When I’m not Crossfitting I train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, enjoy all forms of outdoor activities and spend any free hours I have studying human movement. Prior to finding CrossFit I was working a full time job as a removalist.Like most removalist’s I had a good strength base for picking things up but had terrible range of motion and was working in a compromised position on a day-to-day basis. This led to constant back pain and aches in any place you can name. Enter CrossFit. I found CrossFit Box Hill (what was then CrossFit Burwood) through my little brother, who like most people doing CrossFit, just would not shut up about it until I came and tried it.
After my first couple of sessions I was still in two minds about it but still came back (for some crazy reason). Fast forward a few months and I started noticing my job became easier, my back was stronger than ever before and I was pain free. Although this is a great reason to keep coming back the biggest influence on me coming back was defiantly the people and community that has made CrossFit Box Hill famous. I once heard a guy say during my Level 1 Certification “I come for the workouts, I come back for the people” this is exactly what I believe CrossFit is about.
