I discovered Cross Fit randomly on Youtube in 2010, however at the time there were no affiliates in the eastern suburbs so I just had to continue with my regular gym membership. It wasn’t until 2012 that I got bored of my routine, workouts were starting to feel mundane and my motivation was starting to drop so I knew I had to do something about it before it was too late. Once again I turned to Mr Google for help, ultimately leading me to Cross Fit Box Hill (formerly Cross fitBurwood). Within the first 5 minutes of my first workout (Deadlifts and Box jumps) I was hooked. I signed up immediately.
Since starting Cross Fit I never thought in a million years I could achieve some of the things I can do now. For example: squat over 100kgs, string together strict pull ups or let alone do any form of gymnastics. Despite getting the elusive muscle up, my biggest achievements to date is that I finally mastered double unders. I never thought I would someday become a coach and now that I am, it is an amazing feeling to watch and nurture athletes to achieve the things they also once thought impossible.
